(A SCIENTIFIC STUDY ON THE MECHANISM
FOR TRANSMIGRATION OF SOULS)
INTRODUCTION : Soul and its transmigration is one of the oldest human
concepts, preceding science and its discovery of evolution by many
millennia. Yet it remains as big a mystery as ever as it happens to
be the least empirical subject.
We have two arguments in favor of the existence of the soul. The
first one is an authentic case of rebirth; and the second one is the
philosophical induction from nature. Since nature is impartial to
lives in all other aspects, why should it discriminate in the
quality and duration of life? There isn’t any ground if there is
only one life for each soul.
It, therefore, stands to enlightened reason that though it appears
to discriminate in one life (some have, many don’t have) it is, in
reality, very impartial in the long journey of souls, spread over
innumerable lives. And to top it all the memory about previous
lives, is, as a rule, withheld from the conscious of the present
life. The soul starts each life afresh.
Once soul and its transmigration are accepted, many questions crop
up. Why should a soul want to be born again into this bad and mad
world? Is it un-fulfilled desires or reward/punishment or both? How
far is the soul free to select parents, place and gender for the
next birth?
NEED FOR RESEARCH : Two slow and invisible processes are entwined
around life in any form. But, no human system of thought
incorporates both. Religions would not touch evolution and science
would not look at souls. Need it be said that all the systems are
deficient in this important respect?
Evolution gave us our true origin and transmigration will supply our
true destination. Together they constitute the complete perspective
on life.
Realizing the importance of the subject, a scientific research on
the mechanism of transmigration is the crying need of the hour.
METHODOLOGY AND OBJECTIVES : In the first phase the research will
concentrate on the personal accounts of rebirth cases, much on the
lines of a psychological post-mortem of the soul, as published from
time to time. It should give us the basics about the soul such as
what is retained by it in addition to memories and emotions, and the
personal motive for rebirth.
In phase two some verifiable parameter of the soul for its true
identification has to be discovered through advance preparedness for
rebirths. It may be accomplished by recording various parameters
such as thumb-print, frequency of voice, DNA-RNA prints of all the
members of a few hamlets then comparing the parameters of the new
born with those of the dead.
Successful matching will give us the verifiable parameter for
identification and prove conclusively the existence and journeying
of the soul. Over the years it will also throw light on (1) the
criterion guiding the selection of parents, place, gender and
sequence among the siblings; (2) the influence of previous lives on
the present one, which, if true, will establish the fact that the
roots of individual nature go deeper than genetics and environment.
In phase three some technique for activating the unconscious memory
of the soul has to be developed to probe deeper into the past
experiences of the soul. Extensive research in this phase will lead
us to the general pattern of transmigration and its purpose- the
evolution of the soul.
